Attractions from the now-closed Toshimaen park in Tokyo are getting a second life at amusement parks across Japan.

According to the Asahi Shimbun, the operators of the Yagiyama Benyland amusement park in Sendai bought Toshimaen's yellow Corkscrew roller coaster, a "double-looped US-made thrill ride," in March.
Director of Yagiyama Benyland, Mitsuyuki Yagi, said: " We wanted to take over the legendary ride from Toshimaen. It would be such a waste if it were disposed of."
Similarly, aspects of Toshimaen's Trick Maze began being used at the Lina World amusement park in Kaminoyama, Yamagata Prefecture, in April, with the remainder of the maze auctioned to the Nasukogen Rindoko Family Bokujo park in Tochigi Prefecture.
Toshimaen, formerly located in Tokyo's Nerima Ward, closed after 94 years in August 2020. The Making of Harry Potter, a Warner Bros. studio tour featuring props and set pieces, now exists on part of the Toshimaen site.
Homes are being sought for other remaining attractions, such as Toshimaen's iconic El Dorado carousel, said to be one of the oldest merry-go-rounds in the world, as well as the former park's highly popular Cyclone roller coaster.
