The attraction will be set over 7 acres within the station, which is now 107 years old, according to The New Indian Express, with construction beginning recently.

The Rail Museum is set to cost Rs2.38 crore (US$290,000), which Bindu Agency has reportedly won the contract for.

Attractions within the museum will be a toy train, 3D art gallery, "QR-enabled" picture postcard opportunities and F&B refreshments from a restaurant built from real coaches.

Kasuma Hariprasad, who is additional divisional railway manager of administration at the Bengaluru Railway Division, noted that "materials viewed as scrap hold great historical significance.

“Signalling systems and other old material have been collected along with an ancient dressing table and dining table from Channapatnra, Maddur and Hejjala among other stations," he added.

As part of the development, the BRD will also be "reviving" the Dakshina Pinnakini river, which flowed from Nandi Hills through Chikkaballapur and Hoskote before it ran dry.

An estimated opening date for the attraction has yet to be revealed.
