A five-a-side football tournament and family day organised by UK adult gaming centre operator Praesepe has raised over £10,000 for CHIPS, the gaming industry charity that funds the purchase of powered by wheelchairs for children with severe disabilities. The tournament took Praesepe's total sum raised on behalf of CHIPS to in excess of £85,000.

Nick Harding, CEO of Praesepe, who spoke at the World Gaming Executive Summit in Madrid recently, said: "I would like to thank everyone who played in the tournament, everyone who watched, all of the companies who pledged money and of course all of the people behind the scenes who helped organise what was a wonderful day.

"Ours is a hugely generous industry and everyone who attended has helped to make a huge difference to those children who, without your support, would not otherwise have access to equipment which literally transforms lives. CHIPS was founded on behalf of the gaming industry and has raised nearly £700,000, providing 300 powered wheelchairs. The CHIPS committee work for free - no expenses are deducted which means that every penny raised goes towards funding wheelchairs that are tailor made for each child."
