Bally Wulff to showcase multigames

Major AWP manufacturer Bally Wulff Entertainment will bring multigame machines to London in January, plus games for Spain. They will be exhibited at the IGX show, organised by InterGame, at the Ibis Hotel, close to Earls Court, on January 27-29. The 'alternative London show,' as it has been called, has been enthusiastically endorsed by Bally Wulff.

Increase in gaming machines in Hong Kong

The 400 game centres in Hong Kong now have a strong element of gaming machines in them, according to a report by an InterGame correspondent. Pushers, baccarat, blackjack and slots are installed alongside conventional amusement machines.

Belam Distributing closes

American export specialist Belam Distributing has closed down. The company announced on November 26 that it was ending 50 years of coin-op equipment sales to the export market under the Belam name. The company also had a US domestic market distribution business.

SWPs in firing line of UK Revenue and Customs

As the trade association, BACTA, gathers for its annual convention today, one of the prime topics of discussion was likely to be the scare circulating the industry this week that HM Customs has seized some SWP machines which pay out high-value prizes, apparently declaring that they should be taxed at £250 per year and threatening to demand back-tax for several years.

Re-vamp plans submitted

Plans for a £2m attraction on South-Shields seafront, in the UK, which would include an FEC, children's amusement park, 4D cinema, climbing wall and go-karting, have been re-submitted to the local council by M&J Sherans Amusements, which claims there is a desperate need for "wet weather facilities" at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park.
