Legoland resort in Shanghai, China, is set to open by summer 2025.

Operated by Merlin Entertainments, the news was posted on a Shanghai Jinshan district government webpage and reported by chinadaily.com.

Once open, the park is expected to attract between three and five million visitors per year and will include a number of attractions themed to the local culture, providing an immersive experience for visitors.

Two further Legoland resorts are currently being built in China in Guangdong and Sichuan province.

Figures shared by chinadaily.com show that the Chinese park market continues to grow, with around 80 theme parks in the country attracting a total of 75.7m visits in 2022.

Some of the largest park operators in the world, including Disney and Universal, already have parks in China.
