The new King Charles III banknotes will come into circulation in mid-2024, says the Bank of England.

The security features on the notes are apparently the same as those for the Queen Elizabeth II notes, so there should be no problem for the amusement and gaming industry’s bills changers, it has been confirmed.
The only amendment that will be necessary is a change to the visual recognition processes.
The bills will again be polymer and will consist of £5, £10, £20 and £50 versions with the design remaining the same except for the monarch’s portrait.
Checks on the notes can be carried out in the same way as with the old notes, with the King’s image appearing though the security window.
