The new Labour government’s choices for heads of the departments that oversee the gaming industry in the UK have been announced.

Wigan MP Lisa Nandy is the new DCMS Secretary of State, Sir Chris Bryant is the DCMS Minister of State and Stephanie Peacock is the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State.
It is likely that the latter MP will be the Gambling Minister, which is useful for the industry because Peacock is the former Shadow Minister.
The Conservative Party has confirmed that Julia Lopez is the new Shadow Secretary of State for the DCMS.
While Labour said little about gambling in its manifesto, Stephanie Peacock was in opposition a keen advocate of the need to update gambling laws and a supporter of the implementation of the white paper proposals.
