Whispering Pines Haunted Hotel, from Sally Dark Rides, has officially opened at the park in Maine, US.

In the ride, guests experience a wicked witch and her pair of magical familiars, with nostalgic nods to the town’s former beloved haunted attraction.

The family-friendly ride sees guests entering the hotel, which takes inspiration from one of Maine’s most famous residents, the author Stephen King. Once inside, they must help to lift a curse that has been placed on the establishment.

It features lifelike animatronics such as a professional curse remover and Croaky Weewing, a frog with bat wings.

Bill Cormier, executive vice president and owner of Funtown Splashtown, said: “We are thrilled with our new Haunted Hotel.

“Last year we got incredibly excited when the team at Sally began conjuring the ride concept for us. We were especially thrilled when they unveiled Lilith at IAAPA Expo in November. We have eagerly been waiting for her to cast her spell at the park ever since.

“Now our guests will join together to help banish Lilith and her curse as they ride through the hotel. Sally made true theme park magic for us.”
