78,000sq.ft of vacant land belonging to Southern Railway will be developed into an entertainment destination and will be leased to a private operator as part of a new non-fare revenue idea, reports thehindu.com

The space, next to the Velacherry railway station, will be leased out for five years at a cost of ₹3.31 crore (US$400,000) which it is hoped will boost revenue.

It is expected that the venue will feature a large food court alongside sports and recreation facilities. A game zone, party hall and children’s play area will also be part of the centre.
