The newest family entertainment destination in Sharjah, the emirate next door to Dubai in the UAE, is the Al Montazah Amusement and Water Park, built on what was formerly the Al Jazeera Park.

It is the latest development by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority. The second phase of the development opens in January and the amusement park should be welcoming visitors in the second half of 2018.

The capacity will provide entertainment for a maximum of 7,000 visitors in the water park and 10,000 in the amusement park. The latter will have an Island of Legends theme on time travel through nine countries.

A total of 26 attractions have been incorporated and a new activity for children is a bouncing net that will take 100 youngsters at a time. There will also be a two-coach train that will take 40 guests at a time across the “countries” of the Island of Legends.
