Namco Bandai has said it reduced its half-year losses to US$23.8m for the six months ending September 30, compared with $74m for the same period of the prior fiscal year. Net sales climbed to $2.12bn for the second quarter ending June 30.
The company’s US office made 90 employees redundant following the announcement that it would merge its mobile and online game divisions. Some projects will also be exported from the US office to the home office in Japan and a variety of game development projects will be out-sourced to other companies.
Namco’s US coin-op sales and operations division, however, was unaffected by the reshuffle.
