The Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course looks out over the Pecos River in the Carlsbad Beach area, and augments a nearby nine-hole par three course and 18-hole championship course.

The Carlsbad Current Argus reports that it was designed and built by Harris Miniature Golf Courses of Pennsylvania, a company that has designed and installed courses throughout the US and Australia.

Holes feature hazards like simulated sand traps and roughs created using thicker turf than the smoother fairways while others feature tunnels and tubes to send the ball through for a shortcut, along with obstacles like rock formations and flowing water features.

The course offers 18 holes total, with nine compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
