The cloth chosen by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association again played its part in ensuring the success of this year's 888.com World Snooker Championships.

The Strachan brand, made in the UK by Milliken, has been used at the World Championships since 1980, helping to produce 14 professional world champions starting with Canada’s Cliff Thorburn.

"I believe the ability to score a century break is one of the elements by which playing conditions are measured," says Milliken marketing director Duncan Kettell.

"Strachan cloth is a natural product that undergoes over 20 manufacturing processes before being released for the world’s top snooker tournaments."
