Merit Entertainment was one company that had a successful ATEI show in January, with the 19ins Aurora countertop touchscreen machine as the main attraction of the stand.

New software for 2008, which includes 12 new games and has increased machine income by 35 per cent on ION units and 57 per cent on 2006 Force units, was also on show.

Javier Lanfranchi from Merit said: "Many visitors to the stand included customers that hadn’t visited the show for a long time as well as all our big accounts.

"We also noticed many visitors from the Middle East, Syria, Kuwait and UAE, and these have been the best emerging markets in terms of sales internationally."

Lanfranchi went on to say that a number of important deals were closed while at the show and that the Megatouch brand will now extend to Saudi Arabia with the name Megatouch KSA and Galal Elsaeed as partner and distributor for the region.
