While some leisure attractions across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region remain closed, some have reopened and the market is preparing to welcome back guests with safety and social distancing as a key element in their preparations.

“Although the entire world has changed with the Covid-19 pandemic and many countries are reeling from the crisis, the situation has improved in a few parts of the Middle East, thanks to the pro-active safety measures shared by the governments and adopted by the operators,” said Silvio Liedtke, vice-president of trade association MENALAC.

“The healthy reopening strategy that has been undertaken by operators will help the countries’ leisure attraction facilities to regain customer confidence and encourage them to avail the world-class entertainment facilities.”

Liedtke’s organisation is holding a webinar on the topic of health and safety from the virus on Wednesday from 4pm to 5pm GST entitled ‘New Norms in a New World’. There will be five panellists and four guest speakers in the session, including the HSE manager of Warner Bros, HSE director of Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Wild Wadi and technical operations manager of the Al Hokair Group.
