Countertop games specialist Megatouch has won an important court battle, protecting its intellectual property in the face of piracy.

Last year, the US-based company discovered that Hassan Ait Ouhlal had been selling video games similar to its products illegally bearing the Megatouch registered trademark in Morocco.

In a public hearing, Morocco’s Commercial Court of Casablanca found Ait Ouhlal guilty of piracy and ordered that he immediately cease exhibition, sale and distribution of counterfeit products bearing the Megatouch brand.

As a penalty, the defendant was ordered to pay damages to Megatouch and legal fees to the court.
