AMI Entertainment's Javier Lanfranchi will take his Megatouch brand into India this month where it will be shown at the IAAPI trade show in Mumbai.

"We will have a Megatouch Café as a booth at that show," he said. India, said Lanfranchi, AMI’s director of international sales, is a major future market for touchscreen games. "We have 40 units out on test in India now. It would be wrong to assume that India does not have the disposable income to play these games. There is a ‘middle class’ which has disposable income and they may be a minority, but that minority is still 200 million people!

"And they can afford it. We have a Megatouch location in New Delhi, an up-market bar where a bottle of beer will cost US$5. They can afford to play touchscreen games!"

He added: "We need to develop some specialised software for the Indian market. They need cricket games and Bollywood games and Megatouch would then be a mega-hit in their locations."
