Following our original about the new Dave and Buster’s exclusive, Marvel Contest of Champions, we now understand that the game has been officially launched in the US.
122 Dave and Buster’s locations across North America are set to offer the game which is a 2D beat ‘em-up, offering character cards to collect, in the vein of Injustice Arcade.
One of the main differences with this new release is that it uses joysticks rather than just buttons while the player can collect over 70 Champions Cards with more to be added.
The game is co-developed by Raw Thrills and Kabam, the maker of the original mobile app which debuted in 2014 and features icons from across the Marvel universe including The Avengers, The Defenders, X-Men, Inhumans and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Sources report that the game was devised and funded throughout by Dave and Buster’s which casts doubt on whether it will be made available outside of North America.
