The Imperial Bowling Centre in Pittsfield, Massachusetts is getting a major makeover and will reopen with a new name.
The venue, which is the last bowling alley in the city, will be renamed K&M Bowling and should reopen in the next few weeks.
The Berkshire Eagle reports that the venue’s new owners, local man George Mathes and his family, are currently converting it from candlepin bowling to a tenpin alley with 14 new tenpin lanes currently being installed.
A mechanical pinsetter will be replaced with a string setting system for easier operation while the interior of the venue is also being renovated to make the site more attractive to bowlers.
