UK Gambling Commission officers provided support to the Metropolitan Police in one of its largest policing operations this year - Operation Condor, designed to combat those who flout licensing rules including shops, pubs and clubs across London.

As a result 18 gaming machines were seized from seven alcohol-licensed premises in North London and enquiries are continuing. The Commission's enquiries focus on the source of supply for the allegedly illegally-sited machines, while any additional action with regard to the premises will be undertaken by local authorities and the police with further assistance and advice from the Commission if required.
Regional compliance manager for the south-east, Clive Noblett, said: "The Gambling Commission was pleased to lend support to this successful multi-agency operation in London. Working in partnership with other law enforcement agencies is central to the Commission's approach to keeping gambling fair and safe."
