Having seen their businesses close overnight, a number of slot machine operators in Hungary are seeking compensation through the European Court.

Hungary’s parliament approved a ban on slot machines in October, which outlawed all gaming machines with the exception of those in casinos. Pubs and cafes were forced to remove what had previously been a relatively profitable sideline business.
According to local media, several business owners are now bringing their case to the European Court, claiming that the state has taken away their livelihood.
