The fallout from the pandemic amidst the US amusement and attractions locations continues.
Now one of the most iconic and long-standing locations in Massachusetts has been forced to close its doors permanently.
The US trade magazine RePlay reported that Flat Top Johnny’s in Cambridge will shut down on August 14 after 27 years in business. It is a pool hall, boasting 12 tables and a rank of pinball games, offered with fast food and bar service.
The management of the company said in a statement that "2020 has been a hell of a year and has set everything upside down."
It said that without the ability to welcome large groups as well as plenty of regulars, the business had become vulnerable under the "new normal".
