The plan for a "UK Disneyland" just outside London has been finally abandoned after a decade of disasters.

The 535 acres of one-time industrial land at Swanscombe, near Dartford in Kent, has now been put up for sale by the developers.
A 50-ride theme park to cost £3.5bn had been planned for the site, which would have made it three times the size of any existing UK park. A water park and conference centre was also included in the proposals, plus a huge hotel.
London Resort Company Holdings had already spent over £4m on the project, but now Swanscombe Development, a joint venture betwleen Anglo American International Holdings and Aggregate Industries, is up for sale with the land.
There has been a chapter of disasters for the project, mainly over planning issues, but also strong opposition from conservation groups.
