A new non-profit dedicated to accelerating collaboration, standards and growth in the out-of-home VR, AR and MR industry has officially launched.

LEXRA, the Location-based Entertainment XR Association, brings together operators, creators, suppliers and investors working across the industry to further a common goal.
It was founded by Bob Cooney, a recognised name in the location-based XR industry, to address fragmentation across the sector. Cooney said: “LEXRA isn’t just another association - it’s a platform for getting real work done. We’re here to bring the ecosystem together, create meaningful standards and give every serious player a seat at the table.”
Members will receive a voice in developing industry guidelines and best practices for location-based XR, curated networking and collaboration opportunities and access to exclusive discounts and group rates on hardware, software and services. They will also get to contribute to research, gain exposure through the association’s media platform and a peer-to-peer community.
