A fresh idea to help young technology start-ups in the gaming industry was operated by Spanish giant R Franco this month.

A “demo-day” was sponsored by the company and run at a bank headquarters in Madrid.

It was the first “vertical acceleration programme” for start-ups in Spain, focused on digital gaming, with five winning projects demonstrated to a forum of private investors, business angels and investment funds.

The six-month project involved the young companies Betmaster, 2Game, ScanLoteria, Rivalio and Betrocked, spending lengthy periods of time at the Franco headquarters in Madrid under the control of the company’s new business development manager Alejandro Casanova.

“It was a new, pioneering step in our industry and in Spain,” said the company, “which culminated in major investor and business support.”

For Franco it also signalled the starting point for other initiatives and projects using some of the ideas which came from the scheme.
