A group of amusement operators in Florida, US, are to re-launch the Florida Amusement Machine Association.

FAMA

On August 31, 14 operators gathered in Orlando to discuss the reformation of FAMA and future lobbying efforts throughout the state. The move comes in the wake of the state’s decision to change its gambling statutes that have placed redemption games in a grey area.

The first FAMA meeting is scheduled to take place on September 14 at the offices of Brady Distributing in Orlando.

“So far, we are getting a lot of support from various individuals, companies and organisations,” said Phil Juckem of All Brands Vending, who attended the first meeting. “The coin-only rule, 50-machine requirement, prize limit language and no gift card mandate are problematic for many in the state’s amusement, FEC, parks, bowling centres and related industries.

“FAMA is poised to join the front lines with these groups on this and other issues.”
