Unauthorised Chinese copies of LAI Games' Stacker machine have been removed from locations in Australia, following legal action by LAI.

The 68 machines were imported into Australia, marketed and sold. They contain copied material of the audio, visual and software components of the prize merchandising game.

An out-of-court settlement has resulted in all of the offending machines being removed from location and handed over to LAI for destruction. There are other settlement conditions which are being kept confidential by both parties.

LAI Games’ CEO Alan Freimuth said: "The act of selling and marketing copied games is an offence. We take this matter very seriously and will vigorously protect our copyright and intellectual property rights, bringing action against those companies that manufacture, import, distribute, sell or operate games which are copies of our products."
