UK-based amusement and gaming operator Keeday Leisure has acquired Preston-based Abbey Leisure in a bid to strengthen its presence in the north of England.

Managing director Charles Baker told Coin-op Community: “We’re pleased to announce this latest acquisition, especially as we’ll be keeping on all of Abbey Leisure’s existing staff, who can now look forward to a good, positive future. We are also actively looking for further acquisitions as we continue to grow.”

Keeday Leisure, which was established in 1970, operates coin-op equipment to pubs, regional breweries, national breweries (tenanted and managed), members clubs, universities, Armed Forces and amusement arcades. Baker believes that his business has grown over recent years due to "innovation and foresight." The move will see Abbey’s directors Derek Wright and Steve Robinson after 35 in years in business taking more of a "back seat" in the immediate aftermath.

Keeday currently has four offices located in Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire.
