With slightly later dates for this year's event, JAMMA, the domestic trade show for the Japanese coin-op amusement market, gets under way this week.
Taking place from September 15 to 17, the show will be split into five zones covering arcades, family, prize, related topics and products and a media zone.
Last year’s show was quieter than in previous years and attracted mainly domestic visitors, with no notable visitors from the US or other international countries. There was also an air of disappointment at the lack of innovation coming out of Japan following the 2010 show and it was hoped R&D would get back to its earlier aggression and some good innovative product would come out of the market.
Let’s hope this week’s show results in more positive comment, following the success of the GTI Asia China expo held last month.
