Although amusement arcades in Italy have been allowed to reopen since early June, within the concentration of venues around the Italian seaside resorts some of the big FEC chains have chosen not to.

The capacity restrictions in some cases meant it was still not economic to reopen. The same is reported of tenpin bowling locations in the country.

Income, we understand, is running at around 50 per cent of the pre-virus days in the seaside location. There are reports of some improvement in August, but in general there are fewer tourists than in 2019 and this is having an impact.

The concern for the Italian industry now is the growing incidence of new infections in the past week. It has already led to the Italian Government reclosing dancehalls across the country.
