Work has begun on the Amnora City Mall at Pune (Poonah), a major city and information technology hub three hours' drive north of Mumbai in India. The location includes a major family entertainment centre, Blue Chip, covering 31,000sq.ft.

The FEC advisor to the project is Pramod Krishna, of Infinitum, who told InterGame that there has been evidence of more measured approaches to FECs in India in recent times. "Amnora City Mall is one of a new strain of shopping and leisure developments in which greater concentration has gone into  the quality of the entertainment offering.

"There are so many shopping developments now, usually with the same big names among the retail outlets, that developers have realised that the entertainment supplied could be the differentiator between their development and those of others. Blue Chip has been a manufacturer of rides for some tim, and now includes some high technology developments among its range, even 4D theatres. The third-floor location will open on October 1 and will have 10 lanes of bowling, a Horror House, rides and many games."
