Taiwanese games and gaming machine manufacturer International Game System has announced earnings for the first half of 2008 as NTD0.343bn and the earning per share as NTD5.66.

Because of strong demand from major markets around the globe, IGS increased its investment in research and development in a bid to boost its product portfolio.

Earlier this year, IGS also entered into a partnership with Japanese game developers to work on a series of FEC products, which have been widely praised in the Chinese market.

Currently, efforts are being made to globalise the company’s products by changing the language versions and meeting local regulatory requirements. In November, IGS will participate in the IAAPA show in the US to demonstrate its new products and make its official entry into the gift machine market in North America.

A company statement said: “Despite the numerous and incessant unfavourable factors for the global stock market, IGS retains its highly profitable growth in Taiwan and is now one of the top 20 companies for revenue growth in the country.
