The company brought in £215m of revenue during its financial year 2023, which ended on September 30 2023. That is an increase on the 2022 financial year when it made £185m.

Group profit after tax also rose from £30.9m to £34.2m, an increase of just over 10 per cent.

The company refreshed or rebranded 13 centres throughout the year and opened three new venues: Hollywood Bowl Speke, Hollywood Bowl Merry Hill and Puttstars Peterborough.

It also added string pinsetters to 13 more venues, meaning 83 per cent of its estate is now converted to the technology. Solar panels were also added to a further five centres, taking the total to 27 centres in the UK.

The Canadian arm of its business also reported strong trading conditions, with like-for-like revenues there growing by 15.1 per cent to CA$37.3m (US$27.8m)

Stephen Burns, CEO of Hollywood Bowl Group, said: “This is another excellent performance for the group, achieved against an exceptionally strong prior year. It reflects significant customer demand, as well as the success of our customer focused strategy.

“Innovation of our offer has led to growth across all our revenue lines while keeping our prices low, with a family of four able to bowl for £25. We have continued to invest in and grow our estate, opening new centres in the UK and Canada where we see significant potential.”
