A Colorado, US, go-karting track has updated its race karts, going all-electric and adding gamified elements.

Estes Park Ride-A-Kart has been operating for 66 years and has chosen to update its go-karting attraction, adding the Power Up system. When karts drive over certain points of the track, they will either speed up or slow down, while racers can also pick up power-ups that can interact with other karts using controls on the steering wheel.
Players collect coins throughout the game, with scores calculated at the end and the top three invited to celebrate on the podium.
Ten karts are available to race, each decorated with different liveries and local sponsors. The venue will still offer traditional kart racing if requested.
Estes Park has been family operated since its inception in 1959 and includes a range of other attractions including Trackman golf simulators, mini-golf courses and an indoor arcade.
