Hans Rosenzweig, one of the leading personalities in the German – and European – amusement machine industry in the 1970s and 1980s, has died.
It seems that Rosenzweig died on March 21. He had been taken into hospital in Marbella, Spain, with pneumonia, but died of a heart attack. His wife Ute was with him. They had been retired to Spain for nearly 20 years. He was 78.
Rosenzweig was managing director of Nova Apparate in Germany, part of the Gauselmann Group. The company was the principal importer into Europe of many of the top international brands of amusement machines and, particularly, video games during the boom years.
He was also a leader of the German coin machine industry and represented the country’s trade associations at Euromat for many years, becoming president of Euromat himself at one time.
Further details will follow.
