The AmEx show in Dublin, Ireland, was "going good" on the first day for Brent Sales, which was displaying a wide range of products.

“There was a lot of interest in the Namco video game Dead Heat and the Super Bikes 2 video from Raw Thrills,” said the company’s John Crompton, adding that both games were earning “excellent revenues.”

Also on show was new prize game from Namco, Dunk Tank Prize Direct. In this game the player uses two buttons to control a plunger which descends onto the playfield. If the plunger is positioned correctly, it activates a mechanism that releases a prize. “This game has now been out on test for six months and the results so far have been very good,” said Crompton.

He added that redemption was the main driver in the amusement industry in Ireland. “There is no doubt that operators here ‘get’ redemption. They know that these days the customer expects to get something back – it’s the key to everything. In many ways, operators in Ireland are going back to the traditional way of operating. It is harder work but it means players come back to the venue, so everyone’s happy.”
