Dubai’s Global Village, arguably the largest indoor/outdoor carnival in the Middle East and drawing tens of thousands of visitors each weekend during its run, has chosen Embed’s cashless system once again.

The location has used Embed since 2013, but has just signed a new three-year deal with the debit card systems provider for its smartTouch Tap readers, backed by Toolkit software, for the more than 150 indoor and outdoor rides, games and attractions.
The system has gone straight into the newest section of the Village, Carnaval, run by Carnaval Entertainment, the newest operator of the Carnaval funair at the venue. Thirty-three Embed POS stations will accommodate the expected 5.6 million visitors in the current season, using one million Playwave contactless cards in each of the next three seasons.
Global Village is a temporary entertainment, leisure and retail establishment opened on the outskirts of Dubai and has a five-month run each year. Carnaval, the funfair section, has more than 50,000sq.m and hosts 60 rides and skill games and a separate arcade with 100 machines that has been completely re-equipped this year.
Global Village this year celebrates 75 cultures from around the world with 27 pavilions, 3,500 shopping outlets, 23 restaurants and cafes and literally hundreds of live shows. The current season ends on April 7, 2018.
