Dubai’s Global Village, a giant entertainment and fairground complex just outside of the city, opened for the 2017-18 season on November 1, with 27 country pavilions and with 12,000 cultural and entertainment shows in a 1.6m sq.m park just off the Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road.

Global Village opens

With more than 3,500 outlets consisting of boutique shops, 23 restaurants and cafes and 120 food and beverage kiosks and a fairground-style amusement park with 28 major rides, 34 midway games and 100 coin-operated products, the Global Village attracts phenomenal numbers of people each weekend.

Staff number an incredible 10,000 from 90 nationalities. As many as 60,000 people are known to attend at the height of the season, just in one weekend.
