The worldwide financial crisis may be proving a difficult time for many companies but for touchscreen manufacturer General Touch it is a time to seek out new opportunities.

In European markets such as Spain, for example, AWP and lottery machines are beginning to incorporate touchscreens more and more and as the opening up of lottery policies continues, the opportunities will continue to grow. According to General Touch, state-owned lottery company, Primitiva had a turnover of €1.9bn during the first half of 2008 while Codere’s affiliate gaming company, Victory, begins plans to set up 53 betting shops in Madrid and Basque. The manufacturer also sees opportunities in South America, telling InterGame it could well be "a highlight against the financial crisis background."
