InterGame understands that the Gauselmann Group in Germany this week bought the assets of Sceptre Leisure, the UK's second-largest single-site operating company, which is based at Bamber Bridge, in Lancashire.
Sceptre, which is a publicly-owned company, has over 20,000 pieces of equipment in operation, the majority of them Category C (AWP) machines and most of them supplied to some of Britain's biggest retailers.
No official confirmation has been issued, but one is expected in the next 24 hours. Gauselmann Group the largest operator-supplier in Germany, has been a minority shareholder in Sceptre for some time.
