The online poker business has been very successful for Funworld, managing director Josef Ohlinger told InterGame. At the IMA trade show in Düsseldorf, the company showed its Play4fun terminal in single and double formats.

"We started the programme in Italy last year," he said, "using servers in other countries, both inside and out of the EC and now we are offering gaming throughout the European market." The Twin Star Poker double unit was most favoured among operators, he said, who are using it as a fun game or connected to the Funworld platform for use as a gambling terminal.

IMA was the first demonstration of the terminal, he said. "It is the introduction of gambling to the Funworld business," he said. "We have never offered gambling devices before, but I have always said that if we did, it would have to be something different from everyone else. With our unit we are connecting systems and terminals so offering poker lends itself well to this."
