Abbreviated as FQ Newcastle, retro arcade company Four Quarters Arcade's new branch is set to open in the city soon.

The venue will be the company's first in north east England, reports Chronicle Live. The company's co-founder, Francois Kitching, who is from Newcastle, said: "We're immensely proud to be opening our latest Four Quarters location in my hometown, and on a street that has been important to me for as long as I can remember.
"Dean Street was part of my old stomping ground, where rave culture record stores carried me through my formative years." Alongside its eclectic mix of retro games, from 70s Pac Man right through to 2000s' Time Crisis 2, the venue will also offer entertainment such as film screenings and quizzes.
FQ Newcastle will occupy the basement and lower ground floor levels of the former once Gershwin restaurant, which has been vacant since 2011.
Four Quarter also has venues in London and Bristol.
