The government review into stakes and prizes will see fixed odds betting terminal stakes capped until at least 2016.

The Daily Mail reports that the review will set the maximum stake at £100 for FOBTs, or B2 machines, commonly found in high street bookmakers.
Operators have also been requested to produce a code of conduct for the machines in order to enable customers to set spending limits. The plans will also call for running updates during games so that players can keep track of their spending.
According to the newspaper, some FOBT operators have been lobbying the government to allow more machines on their premises. The newspaper’s source said that since this was unlikely to receive a favourable response from the government, the industry has instead been seeking higher stakes and prizes.
The stakes and prizes review is expected to be published next month.
