Leaders in development and commerce in the town of Mandeville in Jamaica are lobbying for new entertainment options in the area.

Mandeville is located in Jamaica's parish of Manchester, an area said to be lacking in suitable family entertainment options.
President of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Simone Spence-Johnson, said: "We definitely need some family entertainment spaces in the parish. I have always been an advocate for bringing back the cinema to Mandeville."
Speaking to the Jamaica Observer, Spence-Johnson also expressed her wishes to draw in "other forms of entertainment too, maybe a bowling alley, skating rink, a go kart track… Something that means we don't necessarily have to go outside of Manchester for the family entertainment."
One of the areas being eyed to be developed for new entertainment developments is the 40-acre Kingsland space near Mandeville. Manchester Parish Development Committee chairman, Anthony Freckleton, said the space would be ideal for an "entertainment zone," a place where they could install "entertainment for the entire family."
