UK-based jukebox specialist Sound Leisure has signed a deal with Ed’s Easy Diner chain for the supply of a large number of American-style dime boxes for the company’s restaurants.

Ed’s currently operates 24 diners across the country and, according to CEO Andrew Guy, the company approached Sound Leisure to see if it was possible to recreate the look and feel of an original '50s diner selector but with digital technologies.
“Sound Leisure has done a fantastic job recreating these units and I cannot believe that there is another company in the UK that could have recreated such a quality reproduction,” he said. “Based on the in-house expertise at Sound Leisure we have instructed them to not only supply all of our new sites but to also visit our existing sites and bring them up to the new specification."
The deal with Ed’s Easy Diner follows two other major jukebox orders Sound Leisure has received this year.
Said Sound Leisure’s Colin Vernon: “This project has really sparked interest within the company and has drawn on the experience, skills and knowledge from the different divisions found within the business.
“Not only will we be supplying Ed’s with diner selectors, we have also been instructed to manufacture a large quantity of teardrop speakers for the sites and our own installation teams will be pre-wiring and installing these along with the sound amplification nationally.”
