The group was responsible for Legoland Dubai, its first big outdoor park, which opened on October 31.

In its first full year of operation, DXB has reported that anticipated costs at Legoland would be higher than expected. Its assets stood at AED12bn (US$3.26bn) and it expected revenue form its first full year of operations at AED2.4bn ($653.4m).

In a statement, the company said that the higher costs at Legoland were down to increased cost structure, mainly rises in staff costs and facilities.

Legoland Dubai was accompanied by the neighbouring Riverland entertainment district. Its Bollywood Parks project is set for opening this week and Motiongate next month.
