Danish gaming companies Danske Spil and Erhvervsinvest have entered into an agreement to merge AWP operators Danske Automat Spil and Elite Gaming.
Following the merger Erhvervsinvest and Danske Spil will hold respectively 50.1 and 49.9 per cent of the merged company. The name of the merged company, which will have around 60 employees and generate revenues of around €74m, will be Elite Gaming. The management team will be made up of Claus Bødker, CEO, and Jette Posch, COO.
The transaction is subject to approval from the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority. HC Madsen, CEO at Danske Spil, said: "The purpose of the merger is to ensure the profitability within AWPs going forward. We believe that the merged company will be better positioned to benefit from the advantages and strengths both companies possess today."
Managing partner and CEO at Erhvervsinvest, Thomas Marstrand, added: "The companies complement each other and the merged company will be a significant player in the AWP market in Denmark. Our aim is to become the preferred company among the customers as well as among the players."
