The National Museum of Civil War Medicine in the city of Frederick, Maryland, US, and Surelocked In Escape Games are partnering to put on an immersive Civil War entertainment experience.
Customers will find themselves in civil wartime Frederick and will be tasked with raising enough money to prevent the city from being burned down by the Confederate army. To do that, they will need to solve puzzles, scour the city for clues and interact with costumed characters throughout downtown Frederick.
The event is sponsored by nearly 30 businesses within the city. Each will have a different giveaway for participants ranging from ice cream to art prints to beer. Each participating store will have deals and discounts exclusively available for game players.
Chris Sparks, owner and CEO of Surelocked In Escape Rooms, said: “Legions of costumed characters will be roaming the streets to make everyone else passing by feels like they’ve been teleported back to the 1860s. No one has ever done anything like this before, so we’re making history by living history.”
