A California mother of two, who claimed CEC Entertainment, parent company of the Chuck E Cheese chain of family pizza restaurants was guilty of illegal gambling, has dropped the lawsuit.
According to US press, the woman who was seeking damages of $5m, had accused CEC Entertainment of illegal gambling because it was offering ticket redemption games.
Her suit claimed that the games encouraged addictive behaviour in children. CEC Entertainment subsequently issued a statement that said, in part: "We steadfastly believe that her claims had no merit…we are proud to be a family friendly environment and the place where a kid can be a kid!"
