An injection of fresh capital into immersive VR experience company The Void means that the company will be able to increase its global presence in the entertainment market.

A minority investment has come from Lupa Systems and from Uniball-Rodamco-Westfield (URW), the latter following the announcement of a strategic partnership that will see 25 permanent Void locations in URW centres across the US and Europe.
Lupa is a private investment company formed by James Murdoch earlier in 2019.
Jean-Marie Tritant, president of the US company URW, said: “The partnership allows us to further demonstrate the strength of our global portfolio and also brings a truly game-changing entertainment offering to customers, animating our centres with new experiences from the world’s most dynamic content creators.”
Craig Watson, chairman of The Void, said: “This capital infusion allows us to build brand awareness across capital cities around the world and our innovation-led mind-set will continue to create new standards for immersive experiences.”
The Void recently opened five new locations including New York, San Francisco and Atlanta, and operates in 15 cities across the US, plus Canada, Dubai and Malaysia.
